Hi! I am Laavanya. I am a counselling psychologist and I work with a diverse range of clients. I offer both online and in-person therapy.
In my therapeutic approach, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which assists individuals in identifying and modifying detrimental behaviours and thought patterns, enabling them to respond to life’s challenges in healthier ways. Additionally, I offer* psychodynamic care*, exploring the impact of past experiences on current behaviours and thought processes.
Furthermore, I utilise* mindfulness*-based techniques to foster a present-focused environment conducive to stress relief and anxiety reduction. These techniques encourage an attentive awareness of one’s thoughts and feelings without judgment.
I am also proficient in Queer Affirmative Counselling Practices, having conducted significant work with the LGBTQIA+ community in both India and the UK. I also worked extensively in neuropsychological rehabilitation of adolescents living with traumatic brain injuries. I have significant experience working with executive dysfunction, memory deficits, and verbal/non-verbal communication.
